Introduction

As the pioneers of gourmet coffee in Singapore, we at Boncafé have kept ourselves at the forefront of the coffee industry in Asia. Être Bon Gallery and Academy is Boncafé’s newly minted coffee gallery and academy in Singapore where customers, business partners and coffee lovers can participate in the Coffee Journey Appreciation Tour or take up Barista Courses to learn the skills of a coffee barista and how to extract the perfect espresso.

Coffee Journey Tour ($35 per person)

Immerse yourself in history as you embark on a tour that begins with a garden visit highlighting the characteristics of your favourite Robusta or Arabica coffee species. Be regaled by lively anecdotes courtesy of our Boncafé guides and baristas who will lead you on this exciting excursion, made complete and even more memorable with roasting demonstrations and coffee sampling.

Find out how coffee is harvested, the importance of geographical location and seasonal conditions to the final flavour of different coffees.

How coffee is graded, witness coffee roasting and learn how to maintain its optimum freshness.

This is a rare chance to experience the different taste of exotic coffee origins from around the world.

Our professional staff will demonstrate the best ways to achieve the optimum taste of coffee at home using different brewing methods and take you through a journey to open up your senses and your mind to the wonderful and diverse world of coffee.

The tour concludes with an espresso demonstration by one of our experienced baristas who will give you tips and hints to improve your coffee experience at home.

Barista Workshops

Our barista workshops are based on international gourmet espresso guidelines and focus on achieving the best possible espresso with special focus on consistency. These workshops will lay the groundwork of knowledge necessary to allow budding baristas and enthusiasts to continue growing in skill and enjoyment of this craft.

Our training is conducted by industry professionals who have been in the F&B industry for many years with a special focus on coffee. They will show you tricks and share secrets you will never find in books. Students are awarded a certificate for each level.

Basic Barista Workshop

Duration: 4 hours

Learn the history and agriculture of the coffee bean. What is a roast profile, a single origin and coffee blend? Learn to use professional espresso equipment and how to maintain it. Understand the correct technique of extracting the perfect espresso and grasp the skill of steaming and frothing silky smooth milk.

This workshop is extremely detailed and sets the foundation for more hands on, Advanced Barista Workshop.

Advance Barista Workshop

Duration: 4 hours

Time to put the extensive knowledge gained in Basic Barista Workshop into practice. Improve your espresso making with a professional semi-automatic coffee machine, perfect your milk steaming skills and learn the basics of latte art.

There is a strong focus on consistency and maintaining espresso excellence in this workshop. Expect to taste and make a lot of coffee.

Workshops are limited to groups of 6-8 people to allow for more hands-on practices and one-on-one attention. Group bookings are welcome. Workshops are held twice a week from 1pm to 5pm and one Saturday per month from 10am to 2pm.

Cancellation Policy:

  • A cancellation fee of S$25 per person is applicable for all bookings cancelled within 5 days of workshop date.
  • No refunds will be issued for any cancellations within 24 hours of workshop date.
